FAMOUS FRIENDS
We have had many special animals over the years, here are a few that are in our current petting zoo roster
Miss Persnickety

Born at the beginning of January, 2 weeks premature, Miss Persnickety (Knickets) didn't have much chance of surviving. Her sucking reflexes were not developed yet so we had to feed her with a stomach tube for the first few days, she eventually figured out how to drink from a bottle but then decided she would only drink for me (Amanda) and nobody else! Hence the name Miss Persnickety.
She needed to be somewhere warm and close to us so we could feed her and for the first 4 weeks of her life, she lived in our kitchen. Knickets liked being a house goat so much that when she moved back out to the barn with our other goats she took almost 6 months to understand that she was a goat and not a human.
She is our friendliest goat and will spend hours snuggling...unless it's feeding time, in that case, the only place you'll find her is at the feeder chewing as fast as she can!
Sylvester

Sylvester the Silkie chicken came to us as a 2 day old chick and has been a snuggler right from the get go, he enjoys being held and will talk your ear off!
He has better hair than most folks I know and many people have compared him to a pom-pom on chicken feet.
You will see him and his 3 friends Marshmallow, Tinsel and Snowball at most of our petting zoo events and he is also our go to guy for birthday parties!
Da Vinci

In 2025 we decided we needed a wow factor in the petting zoo, the choice was between a donkey or some alpacas, as you can see the alpacas won and here they are!
Da Vinci is one of the first alpacas we picked up, he is a 6 yr old Huacaya alpaca, he enjoys hanging out with his friends and eating anything in sight. Alpacas as a species tend to be pretty aloof but Da Vinci will tolerate the occasional cuddle and doesn't mind a good back scratch.
He is a key member in our Barnyard bundle and enjoys getting to see many new places with the gang.
